A CALL TO GATHER AND CELEBRATE THE POWER OF SOUND!
Join our vibrant community of sound and music practitioners to celebrate 10 years of the Sound, Voice, and Music Healing Certificate Program! The evening will include a performance by Ysaye Barnwell of Sweet Honey in the Rock with local choir singers, a musical performance by Silvia Nakkach, founder of the Sound Healing Program, and a short retrospective of the 10 years that got us to where we are. After that, guests will be invited to enjoy drinks, a dessert buffet, and further mingling and celebration surrounded by art in the Desai|Matta Gallery. This evening will be an opportunity to meet a community of sound practitioners, musicians and healers that will revitalize your work and support your own creativity.
Suggested donation for the event is $25-$50. All proceeds will go to the Silvia Nakkach Scholarship, an endeavor dedicated to making this powerful and transformative program available to those who might not otherwise have access.
ABOUT THE PROGRAM
Vibration permeates all things…and since ancient times, every spiritual tradition of the world has used sound for healing and as a gateway to transcendence and the exploration of consciousness. Today sound is used extensively in scientific research and integrative medicine. From the studies of the wave phenomena in the universe to the vibrational quality of silence, sound healers inquire into the complex relationship between the scientific, physiological, cognitive, affective, artistic and spiritual impact of sound on human behavior, consciousness and the environment.
Led by Silvia Nakkach and taught by renowned leaders in the field, the Sound Healing program was the first of its kind offered by an accredited academic institution. The integration of Western scientific research with ancient Eastern traditions of healing with sound and music has consistently offered students a balanced and inspiring curriculum of clinical, practical and spiritual dimensions that can be applied in personal and professional settings. This continuously evolving program, now entering its 11 year, has been a pioneer in the field.
Please note that online and phone registration will be closed at 3pm on the day of evening events. If not sold out, tickets will be available at the door.
